After Roe v. Wade, Illinois, Florida, and California saw significant increase in abortions, with Illinois experiencing 28,000 more than expected.

Illinois, Florida, and California experienced the largest increases in abortions after Roe v. Wade was overturned, with Illinois having over 28,000 more abortions than expected. The Society of Family Planning's WeCount report found that between July and September 2022, about 81,150 to 88,620 abortions occurred monthly, only slightly lower than the pre-overturned average of 86,800. Abortion data is seasonal, and the report found more abortions in the spring months of 2023 than in the period leading up to the court's decision.
