Over 230 unionized Autoport workers in Halifax go on strike due to failed negotiations with the company.

Over 230 unionized workers at Halifax's Autoport, a major transshipment facility for imported vehicles, have gone on strike after negotiations between the union and the company failed to reach an agreement. Autoport, a subsidiary of CN, processes and ships approximately 185,000 vehicles annually. The union claims that the company made negotiations difficult by hiring replacement workers. Unifor, the union representing the workers, is open to resuming negotiations.
