Outgoing New York Philharmonic music director Jaap van Zweden will become the new music director for Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France starting with the 2026-27 season, working with the orchestra for four weeks during the 2025-26 season as music director designate. Jaap van Zweden's six-season tenure at New York Philharmonic, which ends this season, is the shortest since Pierre Boulez's leadership from 1971-77.
