Netflix acquired Shane Gillis' sitcom "Tires" and will air his second stand-up special.

Netflix has acquired stand-up comedian Shane Gillis' sitcom "Tires", premiering on May 23. The six-episode series follows an unqualified heir to an auto repair chain trying to turn his father's business around. Netflix will also air Gillis' second stand-up special. Additionally, Bill Murray and Naomi Watts will star in an adaptation of Sigrid Nunez's New York Times bestselling novel "The Friend". Lee Sung Jin, the creator of "Beef", is reportedly courting Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Anne Hathaway for the show's second season.
