Madras High Court rejects bail for ex-TN minister V Senthil Balaji in money laundering case linked to cash-for-jobs scam.

The Madras High Court rejected the bail plea of former Tamil Nadu minister V Senthil Balaji in a money laundering case registered by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED). Balaji has been in judicial custody since his arrest on June 14, 2022, and the Principal Sessions Court has been directed to complete the hearing within three months. Balaji was arrested in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged cash-for-jobs scam during his tenure as TN Transport Minister in the earlier AIADMK regime.
