Kraken Robotics completes deliveries and sea acceptance tests for mine-hunting sonar equipment under a contract with the Royal Danish Navy.
Canadian marine tech firm Kraken Robotics has completed deliveries and sea acceptance tests for its mine-hunting sonar equipment under a contract with the Royal Danish Navy. The contract, signed in September 2020, involved four complete turnkey mine-hunting systems, which were integrated onto the Royal Danish Navy's optionally uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) starting in 2022. Kraken has also entered a seven-year sustainment contract with the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization, with options for two further seven-year extensions, for a total possible 21 years of sustainment. The Royal Danish Navy is expected to reach Full Operational Capability with the equipment in the first half of 2024.
