Irish President urges countries to reconsider aid withdrawal from UNRWA.

Irish President Michael D Higgins has urged countries that withdrew aid from UNRWA, a UN agency supporting Palestinian refugees, to reconsider and provide essential support to prevent a "catastrophe" in Gaza. Sixteen countries, including Canada, the US, UK, and Australia, ceased aid in February following allegations of staff involvement in the October Hamas attack on Israel. UNRWA has 13,000 staff in the Gaza Strip, providing support for 30,000 children.
