Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina seeks investment for offshore gas extraction to tackle energy shortages. She emphasized the government's focus on job creation, rural economy, and food production during a meeting with the CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), Eng Hani Salem. ITFC plans to support the "Smart Bangladesh" vision by investing in sectors such as infrastructure, ICT, debt management, energy, and climate change.
