A 28-year-old man was arrested in connection with a firearms incident in Taupō on 22 February.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with a firearms incident in Taupō last week. The man was located at a Counties Manakau address and taken into custody. The incident occurred on Thursday 22 February when a man was reported to be walking in the Hilltop area, agitated and armed with a firearm. Police responded, keeping the public safe and ensuring no injuries were sustained. The man is due to initially appear in the Manukau District Court on firearms charges.
