Legislation to remove tax benefits for the United Daughters of the Confederacy, a group that helped erect many Confederate monuments, is on its way to Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin. The Democratic-led House of Delegates has passed a bill that would eliminate both a recordation and property tax exemption for the group. The bills have moved through the legislature with mostly party-line support and minimal debate.
