Researchers at Tata Memorial Centre in Mumbai discovered a drug combination of Resveratrol and copper that potentially reduces toxicity caused by chemotherapy in cancer patients. The study found that cell-free chromatin particles (cfChPs), released from cancer cells killed by conventional cancer treatments, can spread cancer-causing genes and induce DNA damage in healthy cells. The drug combination is expected to be available by June and has demonstrated promise in reducing treatment-related toxicity in various cancers through human trials.
