Southern California Edison will pay $80m to settle claims it sparked a 2017 wildfire that destroyed over 1,000 homes and other structures in California. The utility agreed without admitting wrongdoing or fault in connection with the Thomas fire, which burned across 439 sq miles in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
