South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended the term of Sars (South African Revenue Service) head Edward Kieswetter by two years, according to the Presidency. The decision follows an agreement between Ramaphosa and Kieswetter to extend the commissioner's tenure to enable an orderly leadership transition in the organization. Kieswetter was initially appointed for a five-year term that began in May 2019.
