Microsoft has partnered with French AI startup Mistral, aiming to reduce its reliance on OpenAI, the makers of ChatGPT. The multi-year deal will enable Mistral AI to use Microsoft's Azure AI infrastructure, speeding up the development and deployment of their AI models. Microsoft will take a minor stake in Mistral as part of the deal and the partnership will include a research and development collaboration to create AI applications for European governments.
