LA marijuana dispensary owner, Ethan Kedar Astaphan and manager, Weijia "James" Peng, were convicted of first-degree murder for killing 21-year-old El Camino College student, Juan Carlos Hernandez, in 2020. Hernandez's body was found undiscovered in the Mojave Desert two months after his murder. Jurors also found the syringe containing ketamine to be a deadly weapon used in the crime.
