Eye ointments by multiple brands, including Equate and CVS Health, are being recalled by the FDA due to unsanitary conditions at a manufacturing facility in India. The Thane-based manufacturer, Brassica Pharma Pvt. Ltd., is voluntarily recalling the products after federal inspectors found unsanitary conditions at the facility. The ointments, which were distributed nationwide to wholesalers, retailers, and through the product distributors Walmart, CVS, and AACE Pharmaceuticals, are intended to be sterile and pose a potential risk of eye infections or related harm.
