Charity rower Michael Holt was found dead aboard his boat during a 3,000-mile attempt to row across the Atlantic Ocean from Gran Canaria to Barbados. Holt, who had Type 1 diabetes, had hoped to raise money for two charities, Mind and Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services, and had rowed 700 miles before his death. His body was discovered by the crew of a fishing vessel that had been sent to assist him.
