Hope Fields, a 4-year-old girl in Richland County, SC, died from severe burns and injuries after her parents allegedly punished her for soiling her pants by submerging her in scalding water. Her parents, Wilbur Fields and Fifi Hill-Fields, were charged with homicide by child abuse and two counts of neglect by legal custodians. Hope's three siblings, aged between 5 months and 10 years, have been placed in protective custody.
