West Virginia PSC to decide on solar energy industry net metering settlement involving Mon Power and Potomac Edison.

The West Virginia Public Service Commission is expected to decide on a net metering settlement that impacts the solar energy industry. Mon Power and Potomac Edison, subsidiaries of First Energy, reached a settlement that will affect homeowners, businesses, non-profits, and schools using solar panels. Solar advocates argue that the settlement provides a fair net metering rate of 9.3 cents, effective March 27, with new rates applying to customers applying for net metering on or after January 1, 2025.
