Victorian households without power for 7 cumulative days due to two consecutive storms become eligible for compensation.

Victorians impacted by two consecutive storms that left 530,000 homes without power will now be eligible for compensation. The eligibility criteria for Prolonged Power Outage Payments has been expanded to include households without power for seven cumulative days across both weather events. The payments, jointly funded by the state and federal governments, provide $1920 per week for households and $2927 per week for businesses without power for at least seven consecutive days.
