Indonesia is considering widening its fiscal deficit to fund a free school lunch program proposed by likely new President Prabowo Subianto. The program could increase the budget deficit by up to 0.33% of GDP in 2025 if implemented nationwide, costing 193.2 trillion rupiah ($12.39 billion) annually. The program will be discussed with President Joko Widodo at a cabinet meeting.
