The Indian government has approved a Rs 10,000 interest-free loan for cyclone-affected tobacco growers in Andhra Pradesh, whose crops were damaged due to Cyclone Michaung. The loan is set to be recovered from the respective tobacco growers' auction sale proceeds during the 2023-24 crop season. Additionally, the Indian government has decided to permit the sale of FCV tobacco on the Tobacco Boards auction platform in Karnataka without penalties for excess production and unauthorized production for the 2023-24 crop season.
