An Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO) and his accomplice, a cab driver, were arrested in Telangana for misappropriating Rs 2 crore from two pro-farmer government schemes: 'Rythu Bima' life insurance and 'Rythu Bandhu' crop investment support. The duo created 20 fake claims under Rythu Bima and misappropriated funds from Rythu Bandhu through 130 ineligible people. They used the funds to purchase properties.
