Afghan Education Ministry annulled 700 'ghost schools' under previous U.S.-backed regime.

Afghan Education Ministry has identified and annulled 700 'ghost schools' across the country, according to the ministry's spokesman Mansour Ahmad Hamza. These 'ghost schools' existed under the previous U.S.-backed regime and were used as a pretext to earn money illegally from foreign donors. Over 18,000 primary, secondary, and high schools are currently operating in Afghanistan, with 260,000 teachers working.
