Five people were killed and five injured in a six-vehicle chain-reaction pileup in Iran's western Ilam province on February 24. The accident involved three semi-trailer trucks and three sedans on a road from Ilam to Mehran County. A technical malfunction in one truck's brake system was reported as the cause by Ilam's Traffic Police Chief, Abolfazl Kahzadi.
