The residence of FCT Minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud, was severely damaged by a fire outbreak on February 25 in Abuja's Asokoro district. The first floor of the building was completely razed, and no lives were lost, but emergency response was reportedly slow. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
