A 33-year-old pregnant woman died at University Hospital Limerick one day after being informed of baby loss, prompting an inquiry.

University Hospital Limerick (UHL) has launched an inquiry into the sudden death of a 33-year-old pregnant woman, who died just one day after being informed that she had lost her baby. The woman was first admitted to University Maternity Hospital Limerick on February 15, complaining of feeling unwell, and was later transferred to UHL on February 17. Her condition rapidly deteriorated on February 18, leading to her death. This is the second inquiry launched at the hospital in a week, following the death of a 16-year-old girl in January.
