A 28-year-old woman from Alberta was arrested and charged with defrauding Saskatoon residents of over $97,000 in grandparent scams. The woman allegedly pretended to be a relative in distress, convincing victims to urgently send her money. She was arrested by Calgary Police and charged with ten counts of fraud over $5,000, impersonating a police officer, and unlawful use of a credit card.
