Sedalia police rescued a woman from a burning car after it struck a pole and caught fire.

Sedalia police rescued a 23-year-old woman from a burning car after it struck a telephone pole, knocking down power lines and trees. The vehicle's engine ignited in flames as officers arrived on the scene. Commander Michael Elwood forced the driver's door open, cut through two airbags, and carried the woman to safety, while the Sedalia Fire Department extinguished the fire. The woman from Grain Valley was then transported to a medical facility for advanced care.
