One person died and 17 were injured in a fire that broke out at a six-story apartment building in New York City's Harlem on Friday. The blaze began on the third floor of the building at 2 St. Nicholas Place, and officials found numerous residents on the fire escapes. Twelve people were taken to area hospitals, and four were in critical condition. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
