Energy Minister Chris Bowen has sought the Port Stephens game fishing industry's input on how offshore wind farms will operate off the Hunter coast. The Newcastle and Port Stephens Game Fishing Club, which has opposed federal government plans for wind farms, was invited by Bowen to provide feedback on drafting conditions for the offshore zone's feasibility licences. The government is expected to announce the winners of two to three licences among eight proponents.
