Foreign interference commission vows to protect diasporas who help inquiry.

Canada's foreign interference commissioner, Marie-Josée Hogue, has assured diaspora communities their information will be protected after some members expressed fears of reprisals. The commission has created measures such as a confidential email address, options to redact sensitive information, and the ability to testify in private to address concerns from diaspora communities that participating in the commission's work may put them at risk. The inquiry aims to investigate allegations of foreign interference in the 2019 and 2021 federal elections by countries like China, India, and Russia.
