Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner faces trial in Germany for unrelated sexual offenses from 2000-2017.
Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner, 47, will not respond to charges of sexual offences unrelated to the McCann case during his trial in Germany. Brueckner, who is under investigation in connection with McCann's disappearance, faces three counts of rape and two of sexual abuse of children in the Braunschweig state court in Germany. The alleged offences took place in Portugal between 2000 and 2017. Brueckner's lawyer, Friedrich Fulscher, has criticized the "abysmal" evidence in the indictment and expects his client to be acquitted. Brueckner has not been charged in the McCann case and denies any involvement in Madeleine's disappearance in 2007.
