Indian Navy discovers sunken Pakistani submarine PNS Ghazi from 1971 war using a DSRV at a depth of 100 meters.
The Indian Navy has found the wreckage of PNS Ghazi, a Pakistani submarine that sank during the 1971 India-Pakistan War, using a recently acquired deep submergence rescue vehicle (DSRV). Located at a depth of approximately 100 meters, about 2 to 2.5 km off the coast, the Indian Navy has chosen not to disturb the site out of respect for the 93 crew members who lost their lives. The discovery highlights India's growing maritime capabilities and its possession of DSRVs.
