ICO orders Serco Leisure to stop using facial recognition for staff attendance at UK leisure facilities due to unlawful biometric data processing.

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has ordered Serco Leisure to stop using facial recognition technology to monitor staff attendance at 38 UK leisure facilities. The ICO found that Serco Leisure unlawfully processed the biometric data of over 2,000 employees, stating that the practice was "neither fair nor proportionate". Serco Leisure plans to comply with the enforcement notice.
