The EU selects Frankfurt to host its new Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) by mid-2025.

The European Union has chosen Frankfurt, Germany, to host its new Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA), beating rival cities such as Paris, Madrid, and Rome. The AMLA will directly oversee 40 of the EU's riskiest banks and begin operations by mid-2025. The new authority aims to combat illicit financial activities within the EU and will have more than 400 staff members.
