Assam Cabinet approves recognising Manipuri as an associate official language in four districts (Cachar, Karimganj, Hailakandi, and Hojai) and introduces six tribal languages (Rabba, Karbi, Tiwa, Deori, and Dimasa) as mediums of instruction in the foundational stage of school education. These decisions aim to protect the interests of tribal communities and align with the National Education Policy, 2020.
