US authorities accuse Tennessee-based sanitation company Fayette Janitorial Service LLC of employing at least two dozen children as young as 13 to clean hazardous meat processing facilities in Iowa and Virginia, violating laws prohibiting companies from employing anyone under 18 in meat processing plants due to the hazards involved. The Labor Department filed a request for a federal judge to halt the employment of minors by the company and is investigating the case further.
