Ottawa will gain a professional lacrosse team, the Ottawa Black Bears, in 2024 after the New York Riptide relocates and rebrands.
Ottawa will have a professional lacrosse team again later this year, with the New York Riptide moving to the nation's capital after the current season, and rebranding as the Ottawa Black Bears. Owned by GF Sports and Entertainment, the team will play out of the Canadian Tire Centre, home of the National Hockey League's Ottawa Senators. The Black Bears' first home game is expected in December 2024.
