The Nestaweya River Trail at The Forks in Winnipeg has closed after just nine full days of operation, marking the shortest season in its history. The trail, which has previously been open for up to 76 days, was only open from January 25-30 and February 13-17 this winter. The trail's shortened season was due to mild temperatures, precipitation, and inconsistent melts and freezes.
