Mozambique declares five-day national mourning for late Namibian President Hage Geingob, recognizing historical ties, and flags to be flown at half-mast.

Mozambique has started a five-day national mourning for the late former Namibian President Hage Geingob, recognising the historical bonds of brotherhood, friendship, and solidarity between the two nations. The decision was made by Mozambique's Council of Ministers on February 13, and national flags will be flown at half-mast throughout Mozambique and at its diplomatic and consular missions. At least 27 African leaders, including 18 sitting heads of state, have confirmed attendance of Geingob's state funeral scheduled for February 25 at the Heroes' Acre in Windhoek.
