A jewelry store in Lantzville, north of Nanaimo, was broken into overnight, resulting in thousands of dollars worth of jewelry stolen. Police were alerted after the store's alarm was triggered at 3:45 a.m. on February 21. The front door and cabinets inside the store were smashed. Surveillance footage showed three individuals wearing gloves and masks leaving the scene in a dark green or black older-model pickup. The vehicle was seen driving erratically in the area before being last seen turning south from Superior Road onto Highway 19.
