Canada's car theft crisis has led to federal government's announcement of a $15 million investment over three years to combat the rise in vehicle thefts across the country. The funds will be allocated to provincial, territorial, and municipal police services to increase their capacity to take custody of stolen vehicles identified by the Canada Border Services Agency. An additional $3.5 million will help officers coordinate with Interpol to locate stolen vehicles and car parts shipped overseas.
