A small, single-engine plane landed on Long Island's Southern State Parkway on Tuesday morning, with the pilot and one passenger sustaining minor injuries. The aircraft, a Piper PA-28, landed at Exit 33/Route 109 in East Farmingdale, Long Island around 11:40 a.m., after taking off from Republic Airport in Long Island just before 10 a.m. The pilot reported engine failure as the plane approached Republic Airport. The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the cause of the emergency landing.
