Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the founder and chairman of petrochemicals giant Ineos, has completed the acquisition of a 27.7% stake in Manchester United, making him a co-owner of the club. With this acquisition, Ratcliffe's Ineos Group will take control of the football operations, including men's and women's football operations and academies. The Glazer family, who have owned the club since 2005, will retain a majority stake. As part of the deal, Ratcliffe committed to investing $300 million into the club's infrastructure at Old Trafford, with $200 million to be paid upon completion of the transaction and an additional $100 million by the end of 2024.
