Singapore's Land Transport Authority catches four drivers providing unlicensed cross-border chauffeur services between Singapore and Malaysia, with potential penalties including fines, jail terms, and vehicle forfeiture.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) in Singapore has caught four drivers providing illegal cross-border chauffeur services between Singapore and Malaysia without the required license. The LTA warns the public against using such services, as vehicles may not have sufficient insurance coverage. Penalties for the offense include fines of up to $3,000, jail terms of up to six months, or both, and the forfeiture of the vehicle used. In response to unlawful practices, Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat has directed the LTA to intensify its efforts against such practices and conduct undercover operations.
