New Zealand Labour MP Ginny Andersen accused Police Minister Mark Mitchell of being "paid to kill people" during his time as a private security contractor in Iraq. Mitchell responded by stating he did not know if he killed anyone during the siege, but for the rest of his time in security in the Middle East he had not killed anyone. Andersen acknowledged her comments "crossed a line" but did not offer a public apology.
