Northern Ireland's Education Minister Paul Givan has given the green light for new build projects in seven schools, lifting a pause on a number of schools in the worst condition, first announced in March 2022. Projects will now progress in planning for Carrickfergus Academy, Loreto College, Coleraine, Dromore High School, Edmund Rice College, Newtownabbey, Portadown College, Mercy College, Belfast, and Malone Integrated College, Belfast. Minister Givan said he has written to the principals of the schools to inform them of the decision.
