Five Clark County deputies shot and killed a man during a welfare check in Brush Prairie, early Tuesday morning after a woman called 911 expressing concerns for her mother's safety. Deputies arrived at the residence and believed her mother may have been held against her will by a male family member, who allegedly produced a firearm. The suspect was shot and did not survive, while the female victim was taken to the hospital. The deputies involved have been placed on leave, and the investigation is now being handled by the Vancouver Police Department.
