A new study published in Radiology suggests that annual breast cancer screenings from age 40 reduce women's risk of death by more than 40%. Scientists from the Radiological Society of North America found that screening beginning at 40 and continuing to at least 79 results in the highest reduction in mortality with minimal risks. Despite research demonstrating the benefits, only 50% or less of eligible women participate in annual screening.
